Jack Dorsey, the chairman and creator of Twitter, confirmed today he will return to an active role in the company, according to the March 28th nytimes.com article, “Jack Dorsey Goes “back to Work” at Twitter”. He also intends to remain CEO of Square.
Square, launched last May, was co-founded by Dorsey. It is a mobile payment company that helps retailers charge for goods using smartphones and tablet computers versus traditional methods.
Twitter is a social networking and microblogging service which allows its users to send and read messages called tweets. Dorsey will lead product development at the company.
Perhaps Dorsey tweeted it best himself, saying, per the same nytimes.com article: “Today I’m thrilled to get back to work at @Twitter leading product as Executive Chairman. And yes: leading @Square forevermore as CEO. #200%”.
